The BRASH 10: MLB Teams of 2009
Sports fans all over the country are on a virtual high between the months of December and March. Thrilling collegiate and NFL football seasons have come to a end, basketball is in full swing with March Madness right around the corner and professional baseball players are packing their bags and heading South to warmer climates for spring training. In preparation for the start of the Major League Baseball season, we’ve compiled a list of teams to watch out for in 2009. From the National League to the American League, we’ve covered the bases so you don’t have to.

1. Chicago Cubs – National League Though infamous for being the franchise with the longest-running title drought in American sports history (with an astounding 101-year streak), the Cubs are hoping this year will be a winning year. And of all the years, the 2009 season could be the one—with the Cubs starting lineup featuring Alfonso Soriano, standout pitchers Carlos Zambrano and Ryan Dempster, and right-handed newcomer Aaron Heilman. And under the new ownership of the Ricketts family, 2009 looks to be an exciting year for the Cubs.
